Students have been working in a group on locomotor skills and with a partner using a basketball. We are learning how to: control a ball with our bodies, use relationships (left, right, etc.), travel in a group, catch a ball before and after one bounce, hold balls on signal, work cooperatively with a partner, share equipment, communicate, and apply safety practices.
Students are practicing the basics of basketball. We are learning how to: control a basketball with our bodies, work cooperatively with and encourage a partner, stay within boundaries, become spatially aware of self and others using a basketball, listen to and follow directions, hand dribble, chest pass, bounce pass, shoot one handed, and apply safety practices.
Students are participating in a basketball unit. We are learning how to: work cooperatively with and encourage a partner, listen to and follow directions, become spatially aware of self and others using a basketball, hand dribble at different levels, chest pass, bounce pass, shoot one handed, work as a team to accomplish a goal, communicate as a team member, and apply safety practices.

We are learning how to: meet challenges, work cooperatively with and encourage a partner, basic defense and offense strategies, hand dribble while traveling, chest pass, one hand pass, bounce pass, lay-ups, free throws, attempt 3 point shots, screen, rely on and communicate with teammates, mirror and contrast a partner, follow basketball rules and procedures, and apply safety practices and self control.
